About Shakespeare with Benefits

Shakespeare with Benefits is a theatre company of professional actors that perform their “Bard-Based Variety Show” to raise money for good causes. All of the proceeds go to the chosen beneficiary.

Past live shows have raised over $5,000 dollars each for New York Cares and the ACLU. In the spring of 2020, SWB launched their online show to raise money for two organizations in the fight against COVID. (Find the online show here.). SWB has also performed in Hull, Massachusetts to raise money for the preservation of the Ft. Revere historical site.

SWB’s May 10, 2022 show at The West End Theatre in NYC will be raising money for Ukrainian refugees. Their beneficiary is Razom for Ukraine, an organization focused entirely on Ukraine and comprised mainly of volunteers, so nearly all the money they raise goes directly to the cause. For this event, SWB will raise money from ticket sales to the performance, online donations from people who can’t attend the show, and raffle tickets sold at the performance for a variety of donated prizes (list to come!).
